men's ministry

"Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all the you do be done in love."

1 Corinthians 16:13-14

What does it really mean to be a man? If you ask that question to ten different people, you will probably get ten different answers! The Bible, however, is very clear on the things that define a godly man. By looking at Jesus' life, we see that a real man is one who rejects passivity, accepts responsibility, leads courageously, and invests eternally. The men's ministry will push you to know God more intimately as we seek to become more like Jesus.

MEN’S BIBLE STUDY ON JAMES

GOSPEL HEALING FOR THE DIVIDED HEART

The book of James says that our deepest problem is that we are double-minded. Though we are meant to be whole-hearted, devoted children of God, we do not consistently walk with integrity in every aspect of our lives. A divided heart leads to divided actions:

* with the same mouth we both bless and curse (3:10)

* we hear the Word of God, but we don’t act on it (1:22)

* we have faith in God, but few good works (1:14-17)

* we are friends of God who maintain a friendship with the world (1:26-27; 4:4)

James helps us diagnose our double-mindedness. But like a good doctor, he doesn’t merely identify our disease but delivers the right medicine. He provides gospel healing for the divided heart.
