Children's Ministry

Our desire is to partner with parents to help their children grow to love God and His Word.  Recognizing that the family is the first place of training up the next generation, we desire to come alongside the family, as part of the bigger family of God to love, train, and encourage all of our kids that they might call on the Lord for salvation and then share the gospel with the world.

Classes are offered for children from birth to 1st grade. Drop off begins at 9:45am.

Nursery - Pre-K: Kids from 6 months all the way up to Pre-K are downstairs the entire worship service for age-specific Bible lessons.

  • Infants: 6 months  to confidently walking
  • Movers: confidently walking to 2 years
  • Twos - 2 years old to 3 years old
  • Threes: 3 years old to 4 years old
  • Pre-K:4 years- start of Kindergarten

Children’s Worship: Kindergarteners and 1st graders start upstairs in the main worship service and then are dismissed right before the sermon, for a teaching time with age-specific small group discussion and application.

Midtown Kids Curriculum: We are currently using curriculum from The Gospel Project for Kids which is a Christ-centered Bible study resource that follows a chronological timeline of the Bible. It helps children understand the Bible is not a collection of stories but one unified story--God's story of redemption.

KINGDOM KIDS

Children in grades 2nd -5th grade are invited to join Midtown's Kingdom Kids ministry.  This ministry meets from 8:45 am to 9:45 am each Sunday at the church beginning September 11th, 2022.  Our goals are to create a safe environment for fellowship, community and spiritual growth.  The same group of adult volunteers will lead the children each week.  This year the children will learn  from the Children Desiring God curriculum - In the Beginning...Jesus. After their Sunday School time, Kingdom Kids attend our main worship service with their families

Child Safety

The safety of the children in Midtown Kids is a high priority. We use a secure check-in system, and our volunteers are all trained and screened through Protect My Ministry. If you would like to read our Policies and Procedures, you can click here.

Family Resources

Mother's Room: Across the hall from the Midtown Kids rooms, we have a mother and baby room. It is a space designed for mother's who need to feed their baby, a quiet room for their child to nap, and also includes a changing table. Additionally, the room has a speaker that can be turned on to listen to the worship service if desired.

Kid Sermon Notes: Each week at the welcome booth there are Sermon notes for kids that are specifically designed to help kids engage with the worship service.

Weekly Children's Ministry Email: If you would like to receive a weekly Children's Ministry email, please contact Julie Lamb. The email includes information about the week's lessons and ways to continue learning and discussing God's word at home.
